UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Front of Wakefield MotelThe Wakefield Motel is located on a peninsula within the Town of Colonial Beach, Virginia. We are approximately 1 mile from the Riverboat on the Potomac. Colonial Beach is known to have the second largest beach in the state of Virginia (2nd to Virginia Beach).  The motel features a pier for fishing, crabbing, breathless sunsets and just relaxing on the Potomac River.  Accommodations include king, queen, or a full size bedroom with kitchenette, air-conditioning, and cable TV and Free WiFi.  Nearby Castlewood Beach offers fun in the sun. Castlewood Park, next to the public boat ramp, features a playground, picnic tables and barbecues.

Our PierAs you enjoy your stay with us at the Wakefield Motel, please make sure to explore all the exciting things close to the town.  Nearby Colonial Beach, you will find that history abounds.  You can choose to visit a civil war site, George Washington’s birthplace, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee, known as Stratford Hall Plantation or the James Monroe birthplace.

A nature lover you say!  Your visit should include a trip to Westmoreland State Park, Caledon Natural area or Westmoreland Berry Farm.  Maybe you just want to relax and soak up the sun on our private pier. Whenever you visit us, you will find that we can be most accommodating.  Come and enjoy our 4th of July fireworks or visit later in the season to enjoy fall sunsets and long cool evenings. No matter when you visit, you will leave with special memories that will last a lifetime.
